S'all good, man

Ricardo van Rhijn made a stellar recovery to spare his blushes in Ajax’s Europa league clash against Legia Warsaw

Ajax ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against the Polish side thanks to a goal from Nick Viergever and a pair of fine finishes from Arkadiusz Milik. The result means that the Dutch outfit booked their place in the next round with a 4-0 aggregate win.

However, their pristine clean sheet was almost befouled by a blunder from defender Ricardo van Rhijn. The 23-year-old made a poor choice of trying to control the ball with his chest inside his own box. Unfortunately, the ball took a wild ricochet and went rolling past the goalkeeper and looked destined to end up in the back of the net.

Van Rhijn refused to give up though, and made a darting run to beat the ball and make an incredible, last-ditch goal line clearance.
