He’s a huge upgrade on Sissoko…

Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a fee of £25m for Lucas Moura, according to Sky Sports.

Lucas now just need to agree personal terms with the club and pass a medical before he can be unveiled as a Tottenham player. The winger has only played six matches for PSG this season, and has not played a minute since December 13th in PSG’s league cup win over Strasbourg.

He has fallen down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes in recent years with the arrival of Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler and more recently Neymar.

He faces tough competition to get into the starting XI but the 25-year-old still has a lot to offer and Spurs will be the benefactors of PSG’s carefree spending.

Spurs have needed a player who can run at pace with the ball when they need to break through a tough defence. Moussa Sissoko offers the necessary traits, but Lucas is a significant upgrades in terms of quality.

Lucas’ highest scoring season at PSG came last season, when he bagged 18 goals in all competitions. Mauricio Pochettino’s task is to unleash the beast that has been shackled by PSG’s tendency to hoard attacking players.
