Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat at Watford was a reminder to Jurgen Klopp that his squad may need strengthening if they are to make a serious push for the Champions League places in the months ahead.

More injury woes for Daniel Sturridge have left them short of strikers and has seen a number of potential signings linked with the club.

Fiorentina’s Giuseppe Rossi is one of the names that has been tipped for a move to January, and comments from the player’s agent indicate that a January move is likely.

“The club has realised it cannot keep hold of the lad because he wants to play,” his agent, Federico Pastorello, told Radio Marte.

“He will 99 per cent leave Fiorentina in January.”

The former Manchester United man has also been linked with a loan move elsewhere in Serie A, but a move to Merseyside might well be an option too.
