PICS: Liverpool’s new Main Stand at Anfield is taking shape and it looks mighty

Fit for European champions.

There’s a buzz back in Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is taking them to Basel to contest the Europa League final on May 18. If they win, they’ll not just have accrued a major trophy and fond memories of having cast United, Dortmund, Villarreal and Sevilla aside, but they’ll also have a Champions League place next season.

Anfield is booming again. Liverpool have a fortress again and the club is united.

So why don’t we just add a few more thousand into the mix in a revamped new stand?

The club are working on boosting their capacity to 54,000 with the addition of 8,500 new seats.

The Main Stand is currently being built 40 metres further into the sky and the pictures from the Liverpool Echo video look special.
