He did what, Phil?
Phil Neville is not known for his sophisticated vocabulary. He’s a football coach, not an author. But nonetheless, you’d expect him to use actual words when working as a pundit for the BBC.
When discussing Romelu Luaku’s recent form during the build-up to this afternoon’s FA Cup semi-final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Neville commented that the Belgian striker had been ‘overlabrelating’, taking too many touches instead of laying it off to supporting attackers with his first or second touch.

Now, I think we all know what Neville meant, but it’s difficult not to chuckle at his use of this newly invented verb.
They say language is defined by use, so maybe it’ll catch on and we’ll all have Phil Neville to thank when we’re using the term to analyse football in the future.
Somehow, I doubt that will happen.
