Crashing out of the League Cup at Stoke was the latest dent to Jose Mourinho’s pride and has invited even more speculation that the Portuguese manager’s second tenure at Chelsea is coming to a premature end.

Potential replacements for the Chelsea manager’s job are already being suggested with another of the club’s former bosses said to be interested in a Stamford Bridge return.

According to the Mirror, Carlo Ancelotti has told friends that he will consider the role provided he is offered a permanent deal.

Despite leading Chelsea to a league and cup double in 2010, the Italian was dismissed a year later as they failed to build on his impressive first term in charge.

The same report suggests that Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone is another option should Mourinho depart, with Pep Guardiola’s name also being linked.

It was claimed recently that Guardiola, who has been heavily linked with the Manchester City job, would prefer to work in London if he moves to England.

Maybe it’s time people calmed down a bit until Mourinho is actually issued with his P45?
