Manchester City legend Frank Lampard shocks football by suggesting he’d like to manage another club

It's been over a year since Frank Lampard turned his back on English football and started a new chapter in his career with New York City FC.

His last club on these side of the pond was of course Manchester City, but with the 38-year-old now looking to life after he hangs up his boots, Lampard has suggested he would only ever fancy managing another English club. Speaking to Sky Sports, Lampard admitted that while he's not always been keen to pursue a career in coaching, he's now quite happy to have a bash at it - although he's yet to get any of his coaching badges.

"There was a period earlier in my career where I really fancied it, then I thought I don't fancy the managerial thing. Now, I'm back onto it. The problem is I've got to get my badges and the hard thing for me is to have time to do it."

Adding that he's now open to being a manager, Lampard goes on to explain that he'd only ever fancy managing one English club.

"As soon as I finish playing I'd like to take it up and maybe be a manager. It's hard though because I only want the Chelsea job."
