Man United’s midweek clash at Brentford has been postponed.

Manchester United’s match against Brentford has been postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the United squad.

The Premier League clash, due to be played at the Brentford Community Stadium on Tuesday night, will be rescheduled at a later date.

Man United’s match against Brentford has been postponed.

Man United had earlier closed down their training ground for 24 hours due to a coronavirus outbreak within their squad, with the relevant individuals who tested positive isolating.

The club announced that they were working with the Premier League to decide if it is safe for them to play against Brentford, ‘both from a Covid infection and player preparation perspective’.

The match has since been postponed.

United recorded a number of positive Covid-19 tests among players and staff after their 1-0 win at Norwich on Saturday evening.  They reported the cases to the Premier League and it is understood that all players tested negative before the Norwich game.

A number of players tested positive before training on Sunday morning, which meant the group training could not take place as planned.

The players and staff that tested positive were sent home, with training adjusted to individual and non-contact sessions.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are due to play Brighton on Saturday, a match that looks unlikely to go ahead.
