According to reports in The Times and The Daily Mail, some members of Man United's squad are questioning Maguire's continued selection in the team.

Some of his teammates are reportedly frustrated with the England defender's poor form. They have 'aired their grievances' at the club's training ground.

Maguire has badly struggled throughout the campaign. A post-Euro 2020 slump under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned into a complete loss of form.

Ralf Rangnick's appointment as interim manager has not helped Maguire either. The 28-year-old looks uncomfortable playing the high-pressing style that the German favours.

The former Hull City defender, who was rested for Man United's last match - a 0-0 draw with Watford - has also made defensive errors that partly cost United in recent games, such as in the draws against Burnley and Atletico Madrid.

The Daily Mail have reported that some Man United players are 'upset' with Maguire. They feel that he has been 'openly blaming them on the pitch for making mistakes' despite his own 'erratic form.'

Some players also aren't happy with Maguire's 'critical post-match comments to the media.'

Harry Maguire's future at Man United.

It appears that Man United's hierarchy shares the concerns of some players about Maguire's form. The Red Devils are reportedly planning to sign a 'world class' central defender in the summer.

Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger, who is out of contract at the end of the season if he doesn't agree on a new deal with the club, is said to be on United's radar alongside Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

Man United central defenders Eric Bailly and Phil Jones could leave the club in the summer. The Red Devils may need reinforcement in the position.

If a world-class central defender was to join the club, Maguire could end up being the club's fourth choice in the position, behind Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof.
