Inter’s Geoffrey Kondogbia scores one of THE great own goals against Chelsea

From all of 45 yards out

Kondogbia

No matter the circumstances, you always feel a bit of a dick when you score an own goal. Step forward Geoffrey Kondogbia.

With that in mind, spare a thought for poor ol’ Geoffrey Kondogbia, who treated those that had turned out for Inter Milan’s pre-season friendly with Chelsea in Singapore to quite possibly the greatest own goal in the history of football.

And we’re probably not even exaggerating, either.

With the Italian club a couple of goals to the good against the English champions, the Frenchman received a pass 45 yards from his goal. Under pressure from a Chelsea player, he saw fit to take what seemed like the safe option and play the ball back to his goalkeeper. Nothing wrong with that.

Unfortunately though, Geoffrey considerably overcooked his pass, somehow managing to loft the ball over the head of his own goalkeeper and into the corner of the Inter goal. Take a look, it’s absolutely beautiful…

Fortunately, Kondogbia’s error didn’t cost his team too much, as it proved to be the final goal of the game.
