Fulham are set to confirm the signing of André Schürrle from Borussia Dortmund, subject to a medical that he will undergo on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports.

The German World Cup winner was released from Dortmund’s pre-season tour in order to discuss the move with the London club.

Several clubs were interested in signing Schürrle, including Crystal Palace and AC Milan, but Fulham appear to have beaten them both the the winger’s signature.

Schürrle was reportedly very impressed by Fulham’s passing style of play implemented by manager Slavisa Jokanović that helped them secure promotion from the Championship to the Premier League last season.

Fulham beat Aston Villa in the play-off final in May to confirm their return to the top flight after spending three years in the second tier.

Since then they have confirmed the signing of Jean-Michel Seri from OGC Nice and will add Schürrle to their list of recruits this summer once he has completed his medical.

Fulham clearly mean business this summer and are willing to spend in order to give themselves the best possible chance of survival. With recruitment like this, they’ll put themselves in good stead.
