France vs Morocco: Preview.

France are the reigning world champions and have been one of the standout sides in the tournament, despite suffering several injuries to key players.

In the group stages, Le Bleus breezed past Australia and Denmark to qualify for the last-16, before losing to Tunisia in their final group game.

In the knockout stages, France beat Poland 3-1 and advanced past England in the quarter-finals, winning 2-1. Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann have been the team’s key players on their run to the semi-finals.

Didier Deschamps’ side are looking to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to retain the World Cup.

Morocco, meanwhile, are the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. The north African side have upset all the odds to make the final four. They topped their group containing Croatia, Belgium and Canada.

Morocco advanced past Spain on penalties in the last 16. They then beat Portugal 1-0 in the quarter-finals, potentially ending Cristiano Ronaldo’s career at the elite level in the process.

Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat and Hakim Ziyech have been excellent for Morocco and it would be foolish to believe they aren’t capable of dispatching France.

Morocco have only conceded one goal in the tournament so far.
