The Euros and Lionel Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain have already given us plenty of ammunition these past few weeks, but with a new domestic season up and running, we now look to the Premier League for inspiration.

Manchester City’s title defence got off to the worst possible start at Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, much to the delight of new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
