Comedian Jason Manford found a novel way of apologising to Blackpool’s controversial owner

It's an apology, of sorts...

It takes quite a lot to force a comedian to apologise.

English funny-man and big Man City fan Jason Manford was the latest person to find himself receiving a solicitors letter from Blackpool owner Karl Oyston recently, after describing him as an “odious ferret” on Facebook.

And after Oyston’s solicitors got involved and demanded a retraction, Manford did just that, apologising to ferrets and ferret owners for comparing them to the 47-year-old.

Here it is, warts and all.

Dear fans,After my earlier post regarding calling Karl Oyston of Blackpool FC an ‘odious ferret’ I’ve been contacted…

Oyston has been criticised heavily for his running of Blackpool in the past few seasons, and the hatred towards him is only growing after he sued a number of fans for online comments made about him. One of the fans he took legal action against was a pensioner, who was forced to pay £20,000 to the club’s owner.

Oyston is also facing a ban from football from the FA, after sending text messages to fans, calling one of them a “retard”.

He has denied the FA charge, claiming the leaking of the messages was a breach of privacy.
