So much so that he has his own nickname for City’s new manager, who he hopes will shine a light on his new fans when it’s time to face the crowd at the Etihad next season.
Gallagher’s love of City and the Beatles is familiar to millions, and now the rock ‘n’ roll star has combined the two by referring to Guardiola as ‘Sergeant Pep’ – a pseudonym that we reckon will be all around the world before long… champagne supernova.
