Never mind the fact that Arsenal have *actually signed*Â Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia, let’s talk about the way that they’ve announced the deal on Twitter.
Although many an Arsenal fan has been incredibly frustrated at times this summer over the lack of transfer activity at the Emirates, when the club *have* managed to complete deals for new players, the way the club’s Twitter account has announced them has been truly world class.
This started immediately after the end of the season when Arsene Wenger tied up a deal to bring in Granit Xhaka to the club from Borussia Monchengladbach. Having retweeted a string of ‘announce Xhaka’ tweets from impatient supporters, the club swiftly followed with this…
OK, let’s announce Xhaka… https://t.co/u8siwTRzUY #GunnerGranithttps://t.co/AqskUiGrX4

Earlier on Tuesday, before announcing the deal for Mustafi, they were at it again as they briefly teased fans with this tweet.
Right, anything else for us to tweet this afternoon? Oh yeah… who's this? pic.twitter.com/lsof5nHX4t

As another tweet later confirmed, the silhouetted figure was indeed new Spanish striker, Lucas Perez.
But the announcement of Mustafi is, without doubt, the best of the lot.
Daniel Floyd was one of many supporters that doubted Arsenal would ever sign Mustafi when reports appeared to suggest that a move for the Valencia man had stalled earlier this month. He was so confident that he promised to give every person that retweeted his tweet £20 if Arsenal did sign the German international.
Arsenal have now replied to the tweet with a short video message from the man himself.
“Hi Daniel,” the 24-year-old grins. “I hope you don’t regret your tweet”

With over 5,000 retweets, let’s hope for Daniel’s sake he can afford the £100,000 he now has to dish out.
