Adam Johnson had secret Snapchat account for 15-year-old, court hears

Friends of the 15-year-old at the centre of Adam Johnson's child sex trial have claimed the England footballer created a secret Snapchat account for his alleged victim.

Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming, but denies two further counts of sexual activity with a child, relating to an alleged incident involving the same individual. And today Bradford Crown Court has heard claims from friends of his teenage accuser that the former Sunderland winger had a second Snapchat account so as not to arouse suspicion from his girlfriend. “He made a new Snapchat account so that Stacey wouldn’t find out," one friend told the court, referring to Johnson's girlfriend Stacey Flounders (pictured below). The court also heard that Johnson planned to meet with the 15-year-old for sex on the night before police were contacted over their relationship. "He said he couldn’t get out of the house because Stacey was there and he couldn’t make up an excuse to her," a witness and friend of the teenager said. One witness, speaking earlier in the week via video link, told the court Johnson asked the girl to send him a naked picture via Snapchat. The case continues.
