Despite that, the Londoners will likely recoup a bit of those transfer fees today with the Telegraph reporting that the Brazilian will probably go to Chinese club Guangzhou for £12 million.
Daniel Levy is well known for extracting every last pound out of a potential deal and although the initial signing was abysmal, Spurs fans are almost giddy that they have been able to offload their man for such a decent price.

Now we will have to see if this money is put to better use than the Bale fund. In Levy’s defence… it isn’t always easy to spend a fortune.
