The moment Liverpool players gave up on Loris Karius has been revealed

He is currently on loan with Besiktas.

Loris Karius didn’t lose the support and trust of his Liverpool teammates because of his costly errors in the Champions League final, according to a report by Dominic King.

The German made two of the worst goalkeeping errors ever witnessed in a such a high-stakes match. First, Karius threw the ball into the path of Karim Benzema enabling the French forward to give Real Madrid the lead. He could do little about Gareth Bale’s stunning overhead kick which made it 2-1 to Madrid but was again culpable for their final goal of the night.

In the final minutes, Karius let Bale’s shot slip through his hands and into the net.

There were terrible mistakes it was later reported that he suffered a concussion in the match. But Karius continued to make errors in pre-season games.

When Liverpool broke the world transfer record for a goalkeeper and signed Alisson Becker, Karius’ days at Anfield were numbered. He joined Besiktas on a two-year loan deal and is unlikely to play again for Liverpool.

According to the report by King, he lost the support of his teammates at Anfield when he released a promotional Instagram video in July, rather than because of his errors.

In the video, the German goalkeeper is in Los Angeles swimming in a pool, playing table-tennis and eating ice-cream. Only he can explain the idea behind it.

The report claims that this was the “final straw” for some Liverpool players.

They had wanted him to keep his head down and work hard. Instead, he sought attention and displayed a complete lack of self-awareness.

“Slowly but surely, his actions led to trust being eroded and, for some, the video he posted to Instagram in July of him exercising and eating ice cream in California was the final straw,” King writes.

Alisson made a blunder of his own in Liverpool’s last match before the international break. The Brazilian ‘keeper attempted to dribble with the ball in his own penalty area and was dispossessed, costing his team a goal in the 2-1 win.

However, according to the report, Alisson apologised to his teammates following the game and they have since moved on.

Unlike with Karius, Alisson is said to have their complete trust and they don’t expect him to make more errors like the one against Leicester.
