Sporting world reacts with shock and horror to Manchester tragedy

There has been a massive outpour of support

22 are confirmed dead after an explosion at an Ariana Grande concert on Tuesday night.

After a tragic night in Manchester, which is now believed to be a terror attack by a lone man, the sporting world has come out to support those affected by the incident.

The official Manchester United and Manchester City twitter accounts expressed their shock and sadness towards the situation..

Footballers that have played in Manchester during their careers also took to Twitter.

Manchester United’s opponents in Wednesday’s Europa League final, Ajax, also tweeted out in support of the city along with numerous other clubs.

Rory McIlroy also felt a mixture of anger and sadness over the tragedy.

As did fellow Northern Ireland native and boxer Carl Frampton.

The British MMA community also expressed their condolences.
