IT Carlow won the NBCC Men’s Division One League this evenin with a sensational 75-72 victory against NUI Galway, and it all came down to the final posession. With the teams tied and the seconds ticking down, Carlow's Jimmy Ward launched a speculative (you van say that again) effort from the half-court line to win it. And as fate would have it, Jimmy found nothing but net, sparking insane celebrations at the National Basketball Arena. However, Ward was no hit wonder on the night, he was his team's joint top scorer, nailing 22 points in the epic win. Amazing stuff.
