Arms aren’t supposed to bend that way.
Alberto Contador had one hell of a wipe out at the Giro d’Italia stage 6 which took out a group of his fellow competitors during the sprint finish.
Hands down the person who came out the worst from the incident was Daniele Colli. The man was left with an arm that no longer functioned as an arm.
If you have a strong stomach you can see the video of the incident and Colli’s elbow transforming into a knee in the video below. Obviously, it contains extremely graphic content. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
You can really appreciate the gut-wrenching horror of the injury in image form. Here’s a still of the cyclist after the crash, resembling our ol’ pal Mr McGreg from the Simpsons.
But, hey, it takes more to put than just an arm going in the wrong direction to put this guy down.
