Drug cheat ordered to return Olympic medal, but there’s just one problem

Good luck getting that medal back now.

Yarelys Barrios has been stripped of her Olympic silver medal, won at the Beijing Games in 2008, and ordered to return it by the International Olympic Committee.

However, there’s just one problem – she sold the medal on eBay back in June.

According to the Associated Press, the Cuban discuss thrower, who failed a retroactive drug test, sold the medal earlier this year for $11,655 (€10,410).

Barrios, who also won bronze at the 2012 Games, tested for banned substances in tests originally taken at the Beijing Games.

If you happen to be the proud owner of an Olympic silver medal bought on eBay from a drug cheat, don’t be too surprised if you get a call from IOC in the coming weeks and months.
