New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has been fined $100,000 by the NFL for using profanity during his side's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
This is not Ryan's first or second offence - he has been fined a total of $225,000 for failing to control his temper on three separate occasions.
Ryan tried to joke the offence away when he met the media on Monday, saying: “I think I was saying, ‘Thank you.’"
“Emotions run high in games, and sometimes I think it's best what happens on the field stays on the field. Obviously, I have to do a good job of controlling my emotions. Things happen and I am sorry if I offended anybody.”
This is the offending outburst.
Next time, maybe he should introduce a bit more subtlety.
