Vine: LeBron James stands strong to put the Cleveland Cavaliers on brink of finals

Fought through injury

Injuries, to himself and his team-mates. Shooting woes. Pesky Hawks. Nothing could derail LeBron last night

The Cleveland Cavaliers are just one win away from the NBA Finals after LeBron James put his hometown team on his back and carried them past the Atlanta Hawks last night.

Leading the seven-game Eastern Conference finals 2-0, James and the Cavs returned home knowing another win would almost put the Hawks into a hole that no play-off team has ever climbed out of.

But, with his two best team-mates, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, out injured, Cleveland’s fortunes rested on LeBron and he clearly felt the pressure early on, missing his first ten shots (although four of them happened right here):

The game ended up going to overtime, but James, who spent the final minutes of the game struggling with a leg injury, would not be denied.

He ended up with a triple-double of 37 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists, including the game-winning three-pointer.

Both Cleveland and Golden State now lead their series 3-0, getting us one step closer to everyone’s dream finals match-up between James and Stephen Curry.
