It's always admirable when you see a return specialist try to get instant forward momentum with a run.
But admirable is not synonymous with clever as the Indianapolis Colts' Josh Cribbs found out last night when he got an absolute wallop of a hit after failing to call a fair catch in the third quarter of the Colts' playoff victory over the Denver Broncos.
The 31-year-old Kent State product was damn-near knocked back into 2014 after he tried to run straight from a Broncos' punt but, shockingly, that wasn't the biggest hit he received yesterday.
An earlier punt return attempt was met with a hit just as nasty as the above one which leads us to urge Cribbs to start calling fair catches if he wants to be able to walk every Monday morning.
