VIDEO: NBA stars predict the winner of Irish basketball final but they cannot pronounce Templeogue

Conan Doherty

GCD Swords Thunder versus…

Temple League?

Templeóig…

Templeyogo.

It isn’t easy, in fairness. Well, if you’re not from here it isn’t.

Templeogue (Templeogue) Basketball Club face Swords Thunder in the Hula Hoops Men’s National Cup final on Saturday night and they’re even talking about it in the NBA.

Tip-off for the game is 8pm in the National Basketball Arena (live on TG4) and we know the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic will be checking in on the game anyway. Still probably trying to get to grips with their Irish pronunciation.

If the Americans love one thing though, it is an underdog and the majority of players asked about the game by The Courtside Collective are going for Swords for no other reason but for the fact that they’re not the favourites. Well, that and presumably because they have a grudge against Templeogue for having a name like Templeogue.

Check out this funny video and get your tickets for the game here.
