It all kicked off when Alabama took on Auburn last night when an on-court fight broke out between Alabama’s Breanna Hayden and Auburn’s Hasina Muhammad after a successful free-throw.
The Alabama player landed a mean right straight on Muhammad after she sunk the basket and the Auburn player began chasing her down looking to retaliate. At this point, the rest of the players began swarming towards the duo and a full-on brawl broke out on the court.
The game’s referees had to call the contest to a halt for about 20 minutes to let tempers cool so that the game could carry on. One of the referees tried to act as a wedge between Hayden and Muhammad to stop fisticuffs from breaking out. As you can see from the clip, the poor official’s efforts had disastrous consequences as she was bowled over by the charging player.
