Kevin Martin was handed a whopping $15,ooo fine by the NBA for doing an apparently offensive celebration.

The Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard was punished severely by the NBA for his rendition of the "Big Balls dance" after sinking a big three-pointer against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday. Despite his best efforts, Martin could not stop the Timberwolves from losing a dramatic 105-106 game to the Bulls. You can check out what the basketball big wigs call "an offensive gesture" below. The celebration, which was championed by Sam Cassell, seems innocuous enough to our untrained eyes. Are we missing something or does the punishment seem a little harsh? http://imgur.com/n3LNqBS Hat-tip to Bleacher Report
