Player listed as Fantasy Football ‘probable’ after being shot twice in the head

Critical condition

Patrick McCarry

Terrible incident. Lucky escape.

Stedman Bailey is currently in hospital and battling the obvious after-effects of being shot twice in the head.

The St Louis Rams wide receiver was caught up in a hail of gunfire on Tuesday night, in Miami, and was rushed to hospital.

According to the NFL Network, NFL Network, Bailey was shot twice in the head while sitting in a car with several family members.

The driver of the car was shot multiple times as he dived to shield children in the back seat from gunfire.

The Rams released the following statement last night: ‘We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening.

‘We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.’

Remarkably, Bailey remains listed as ‘Probable’ to start the Ram’s next fixture in the NFL’s Fantasy Football.

That’s as strong a show of support as we can possibly imagine.

The 25-year-old had enjoyed a good start to the season before, in early November, being hit with a substance abuse ban of four games.
