NFL star holds press briefing to deny ‘wild orgies’, proceeds to dig himself deeper

For the record

Patrick McCarry

Well that’s that cleared up then.

LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy just wants to concentrate on his football career.

Sure, his Instagram account posted an ill-advised females-only [aged 21+] invite to his pre-season party, but that was last week.

It is in the past.

Such was the furore that accompanied the [now deleted] post that the Buffalo Bills running back cancelled the party.

On Friday, after a training scrimmage, he fronted up to the media. His tone one giant leap away from bashfully contrite.

‘I felt like it was like a thing I do every year with teammates. It’s something I bring together with teammates, but I didn’t do it this year. It got too wild. I should never have posted it, and I take blame for it.’

‘But for the record,’ he added, ‘it was no weird orgy thing going on.’

Bills coach Rex Ryan had, earlier, remarked that he never received an invite to the party.

McCoy commented, ‘He was pissed off that I didn’t invite him. He gave like a whole speech for about two hours. “You gotta be about the team. If one guy has women, we all need women!” No, I’m joking. He didn’t say that. He didn’t really talk about it.’

Incredible stuff.
