A cargo transportation company employee has been charged for driving away with a truck full of new LeBron James ’12’ Nike runners.

According to police in Memphis, Charles Jennings of Intermodal Cartage Group used his ID card to gain access to a depot where a parked truck contained 7,500 pairs of the new kicks.

Jennings’ employers contacted the authorities to report the runners missing and, following a handy tip, the Memphis Auto Cargo Task Force, which includes the FBI, swooped. Jennings was arrested on November 14.

He had, allegedly, selling the stolen booty in the days before his arrest. When the runners were recovered, some 700 pairs of the runners, which were set to retail at €200, were missing.

Mark Dunbar from Shelby County Sheriff’s Office told ESPN, ‘He had a pretty good idea what he had. They were Nikes and they were more valuable in that they hadn’t been released yet.’

ESPN also report that, in recorded conversation upon his arrest, Jennings admitted to stealing the truck. He is currently out on a $75,000 bond and his trial is set for early 2015.
