The winless run of the Los Angeles Lakers is over, and with it comes the end of our favourite running subplot of the opening weeks of the NBA season.
Former star Charles Barkley, now a TV studio analyst with TNT, last Thursday announced he would not eat until the sad-sack Lakers, then 0-5, finally opened their account, prompting this hilarious projection of the one-time Round Mound of Rebound’s fast.

Luckily for Barkley, who conceded that if Lakers legend Kobe Bryant went down with an injury ‘ I MIGHT DIE!!!’, when the purple and gold won last night in Charlotte, Twitter was ready.
