Cardboard sign-wielding free agent shows up at Houston Texans, not leaving until he gets a job

One-man campaign

Patrick McCarry

It’s a brave tactic. Let’s see how it plays out…

Joseph Anderson had a fine college football career. He has also played for Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.

Throw in the fact that he is from Texas and is currently a free agent.

In Joseph Anderson’s head, at least, it is perfectly logical to show up outside the NFL ground of his local Houston Texans with a cardboard sign looking for work.

That’s right, the 26-year-old is not moving from the ground until Texans, or any other franchise, decide to pick him from free agency and give him a chance.

The wide receiver’s sign reads: ‘Not homeless… but STARVING for success!!! Will run routes 4 food. #Whateverittakes #IBelieve #Underdog #Hungry’

All Anderson needs is a tea to take a punt and we could all be watching the movie of his life on the silver screen in a few years’ time.
