Zlatan Ibrahimovic's time as a Manchester United player has seemingly come to an end, with confirmation coming on Friday afternoon that the Swede has been released by the Red Devils.
Ibrahimovic's name was the only one on United's list of released players and it would seem like the 35-year-old will see out his career elsewhere although the possibility still exists that United could potentially re-sign the centre-forward in January.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 appearances for Jose Mourinho's side since signing on a free last summer but his debut Premier Leauge season was cut short when the Swede picked up a serious knee injury in a Europa League clash with Anderlecht in April.
Suggestions that his contract would not be renewed intensified recently when United changed their focus in the transfer market, with a No. 9 reportedly the club's priority and talks seemingly underway with Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata.
Ibrahimovic's agent, Mino Raiola, has insisted that retirement is not an option for the player, who has already been the subject of approaches from an assortment of clubs.
“He will play for one more year, maybe two," Raiola recently said.
“There have been offers from clubs from many leagues, but he will remain in Europe 100 per cent.”
