A meek affair ended the long wait.

76 days we were left to wait without Premier League football and, when it finally came back around, United and Spurs gave us a reminder that you only love what you don't have. Louis van Gaal's side played out a 1-0 victory in the opening game of the new season but, apart from the first 21 minutes where Spurs were on top and United scored - of course - there was little else to report from Old Trafford. So much so that the match day ball commanded most of the attention. We were all looking on a little dumbfounded trying to figure out if we were trying to remember something or not. https://twitter.com/IanDoyleSport/status/630009800051552256 Someone just got a little carried away. https://twitter.com/CraigBrockway/status/630006583641153537 It's not right. https://twitter.com/Fredorrarci/status/630012037775630336 Ack, it's not that bad. https://twitter.com/UnderdogBlog1/status/630009174873796608/photo/1 Really, it couldn't be that bad. https://twitter.com/TommyMartinTV3/status/630009733752168448 Okay then it is. https://twitter.com/TommyMartinTV3/status/630013592969027584 Now I remember it.
