Getting called into the manager's office and being told you are going out on loan cannot be a great feeling.

Being a talented footballer often stands for little when you sign up with a professional team and are introduced to a shedload of other talented footballers. The academy world can be a brutal one and the ante is only upped when one breaks into the senior squad. Some players embrace the challenge of dropping down a division, or two (or three), and getting game time under their belt. For the lucky few, they remain in their league and - if their manager does not insert a clause - get to show their employers what they are missing. It is harder still when they players who are now training with feel you are there to take their spot. Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj, who cut short his loan deal at Borussia Dortmund, is one example of a player that struggled to adapt with a new club.
