Xavi had some pretty complimentary comments about Jack Wilshere and Raheem Sterling

Barca legend Xavi paid a huge compliment to Arsenal young gun Jack Wilshere. The talismanic midfielder ranked Wilshere among his favourite current English players.

Jack Wilshere has come under fire throughout his career, with critics arguing that the Arsenal playmaker has failed to live up to his potential. Pegged as England's "great white hope" since he was a teen, Wilshere has had the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders since breaking into the Arsenal first team. However, the 22-year has caught the eye of a true legend of the game. Barcelona stalwart Xavi admitted to being a huge fan of Wilshere's. When asked to name his favourite current English player, the first name that Xavi cited was Wilshere.

It's difficult, there is a lot of talent out there and I think Jack Wilshire is an amazing player, very good.

Xavi also revealed his admiration for a pair of Liverpool players and a Chelsea duo. The Catalan implied that Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling has the potential to become one of the greats.

 Raheem Sterling has a great future ahead of him. Then there's the older guys such as Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and John Terry. They're part of English history, winning every single title.
