Tributes have been pouring in from the sporting world for Steven Gerrard, who is not dead. Nor has he retired. He's simply said that in six months he's going to start playing football for someone else.
The praise has mostly been heartfelt and deserved but hands down the most fitting and apt tribute has come from Gerrard's former team-mate at Liverpool Xabi Alonso.
