Wrexham Hollywood owners buy drinks for fans to celebrate anniversary

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have owned Wrexham for one year

Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney celebrated their one-year anniversary of owning non-league side Wrexham by buying 365 gin and tonic's for supporters. The two stars put a tab behind the bar at The Turf Hotel, which is attached to the club's stadium, on Wednesday with the number of drinks representing every day they have owned the club. https://twitter.com/Wrexham_AFC/status/1491502979245031430 Reynolds and McElhenney posted a flyer on social media in which they thanked fans of the National League side for their support since buying Wrexham. It read: "Dear Wrexham. Firstly, thank you for reading this flyer. We weren't sure if anyone ever looked at these. "Just a quick note to thank each and every one of you on our 1-year anniversary with the club. The love and adoration for Wrexham FC - it's unlike anything we've ever seen.

"That's why we've put up 365 Aviation Gin and Tonics behind the bar. Have one on us.

"Until we speak again, via a haphazardly posted flyer or otherwise - cheers, Rob and Ryan."

Reynolds and McElhenney purchased the club back in February, 2o21 and as per the Daily Mail have invested in excess of £2m into the Dragons - bringing in big brands such as  TikTok and Expedia as sponsors. So far the pair have only managed to watch one game in-person due to their busy career schedules but their presence at the club has been well-received. "The year has gone in the blink of an eye, we have learned so much and more importantly feel like we are fully integrated into everything Wrexham.

"It feels like the community are close to the Club and not only those who come through the turnstiles but those who are supportive from a distance.

"We wanted our time at the Club to be defined by the benefit we could create for the community and are proud of the progress to date, although we are only just getting started."
