Fabian Delph red card tackle sparks unsavoury scenes on pitch and in tunnel in City Wigan clash

It all kicked off at half-time of Manchester City's FA Cup tie with Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Monday night.

A tame first-half was sparked into life when Fabian Delph clattered Max Power with a flying tackle just before the break. The referee Anthony Taylor looked set to give him a yellow card for the challenge, but when the camera cut back to him, he had a red in his hand and sent the City midfielder off. On the sidelines, the two managers got into a heated argument. Pep Guardiola appeared to think the Wigan players influenced the referee's decision to show Delph a red, rather than a yellow, as it looked like he was originally set to do. Paul Cook, the Wigan manager, wasn't backing down though. The argument continued into the tunnel and outside the dressing rooms. The two managers were separated by staff from both clubs, and former Sunderland manager Peter Reid made an appearance.
