The last thing we wanted to hear.

After Ireland's dire showing against Georgia on Saturday evening, we've been praying, hoping against hope, that Martin O'Neill's men will restore some pride when they take on Serbia on Tuesday evening. The key to almost all of these hopes, after our glaring inability to hold onto the ball in that clash, was that man Hoolahan. Martin O'Neill is never keen on starting the Norwich playmaker in away games, but he usually gets the nod in our home games. Hoolahan, who didn’t make it off the bench in Tbilisi, did train on Monday but Martin O’Neill confirmed in his news conference, that the 35-year-old is nursing a tight groin, and is a doubt. Meanwhile, Jeff Hendrick will not feature in the Aviva Stadium clash, due to an ongoing quad injury, and Aiden McGeady is also a big doubt for the game.
