It has been a relatively quiet summer for Wayne Rooney, in terms of media coverage and transfer links. The Manchester United striker looks set to lead the line, this upcoming season, as Louis van Gaal seeks to build a league-winning attack around him. Rooney signed off from United's pre-season tour to the USA with a handwritten message attached to a cheerio tweet. https://twitter.com/WayneRooney/status/626722814654083072 What has followed, in the past three hours has been a slew of guffaws and insults about his somewhat rudimentary musings.
