We've seen enough Scottish football in our time to know that the spectacular doesn't happen too often.
But Kilmarmock v Celtic could well have been a La Liga clash such was the quality of goalscoring on display tonight. A quick Kris Commons free kick led to the opener when Leigh Griffiths beat the offside trap and the 'keeper. Kilmarnock's equaliser had more to do with shoddy defending than any sublime creativity on the part of Killie. But then came a piece of quality that you'd expect to come from the boot of Cristiano Ronaldo when 23-year-old Nir Bitton let rip with a long-range strike 10 minutes into the second half. It was looking like three wins from three for Ronny Deila's men but, at the death, Emilio Izaguirre conceded a penalty and new Killie signing Kallum Higginbotham stepped up. The 26-year-old did his best Pirlo impression as he gave Craig Gordon the eyes and dinked the ball down the middle to make sure that spoils were shared at Rugby Park.Explore more on these topics:
