It wasn't supposed to be like this.

Sunderland fans showed up in their numbers for a crucial bottom half clash with Aston Villa. By 3.45pm, the stadium had half emptied. Gus Poyet's men took a drubbing from Sherwood's charges as Villa ran up four first half goals to leave the home crowd less than happy. After Agbonlahor had scored his second, the side's third in the 37th minute, supporters began to stream out the exit gates. https://twitter.com/FourFourTweet/status/576773440545374209 https://twitter.com/BBC5LSX/status/576776520410259456 Others voiced their discontent at the management on the bench and had to be restrained by stewards as they bullied their way in to let their feelings known. https://twitter.com/VillaontheKnoll/status/576777876030242816 The police then looked to be escorting Poyet around his technical area. https://twitter.com/HounslowFTM/status/576777397246234624
