WATCH: Robin van Persie’s talent perhaps wasted in Turkey as he scores ludicrous skill goal

Robin van Persie is still only 32 years old.

And it appears that the Dutchman still has an awful lot to offer on the football pitch. Van Persie left the Premier League last July for less than €5 million and it's looking like an absolute bargain for Fenerbahce. He's scored his fair share of screamers since swapping England for Turkey and it begs the question whether van Persie is perhaps playing at a lower standard than he ought to be, given the skills at his disposal. At 32, he likely has another two or three years left in him before his legs give way and with techniques like that which saw him bamboozle Gaziantepspor goalkeeper Zydrunas Karcemarskas, he should be contributing for a side in one of the so-called "big five" European leagues. Van Persie was through on goal but rather than smash it into the roof of the net or hammer it across the face of goal to a teammate, he rolled his favoured left foot over the top of the ball and smoothly slotted home with his right. The former Arsenal and Manchester United went on to score his second of the game in the 81st minute to round out a 3-0 victory and leave everybody wondering why he's not being snatched up by a top European side.
