There was a peculiar scene in the NWSL clash between the Houston Dash and the Orlando Pride on Saturday night.
10 minutes to go until the final whistle, Orlando Pride were trailing 3-1 and were trying to find some way of rescuing the game. With drama at its highest point during the game, some chap decided this would be the ideal moment to try to get a selfie with star player Alex Morgan.
The fan jumped the barrier and ran over to the USWNT player with his phone in one hand and a jersey he was looking to get signed in the other. He crept up behind her and tried to get her attention by prodding her in the back, but Morgan's teammates were quick to usher her away from the stranger.
Orlando's Brittany Alvaredo saw the humour in the weird situation as she tweeted out a GIF of the incident along with a snappy zinger.

Morgan later sounded her appreciation of her teammates' handling of the situation.
