"I've tried to defend this team for the last two or three weeks and its getting more and more difficult to do."
Paul Scholes has had it!
The former Manchester United midfielder has, for months, been one of the most outspoken critics of the current United team before providing something of a turnaround a fortnight ago when he threw his backing behind under-fire Louis van Gaal.
But United's performance against Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round on Saturday evening seems to have been the straw that broke the ginger camel's back.
The Red Devils needed a last-gasp penalty to snatch victory from a League One side who were coming off the back of a defeat to Peterborough and the lack of enthusiasm from United's players didn't sit well with Scholesy who tore his former team asunder on BT Sport in the minutes proceeding the final whistle.
