The confrontation happened at Plaza Mayor on Wednesday afternoon.
Leicester City supporters and the Spanish police were involved in a tense standoff this afternoon ahead of Leicester's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.
As you can see in the footage below, a large swathe of supporters were gathered at the popular Plaza Mayor location in the heart of Madrid as bottles, flares and debris was thrown.
A chant of 'Gibraltar is ours, Gibraltar is ours, f**k off you Spanish bastards, Gibraltar is ours ' can be heard in the footage that was captured by Liam Canning this afternoon.
This incident follows the news that the BBC reported last night regarding the arrest of eight Leicester City fans for "causing a mess" in the city. BBC journalist Phil Mackie said he witnessed what appeared to be an unprovoked attack from officers.
Six officers were also attacked in those disturbances.
The English champions take on Diego Simeone's men at 19:45.
