Johan Cruyff may have spent just a season at Feyenoord but their tribute, and that of their fans, will take some beating.
The Dutch footballing maestro passed away on Thursday morning after a succumbing to lung cancer. Tributes have continued to pour in ever since.
One of the most startling, touching tributes arrived during Feyenoord's friendly match with Sparta, in Rotterdam, last night.
Cruyff played the 1983/84 season with Feyenoord, scored 11 goals in 33 games, and won the Dutch Footballer of the Year after helping them to the league title.
14 minutes into the match, players from both sides stopped in their strides to applaud Cruyff, who graced the No.14 jersey for The Netherlands.
